Can't Decide

I'm really new to DS. But I got hooked immediately. Every spare moment is spent at the computer! I finally took my LO's to Kinkos to get printed. The 8 1/2 x 11 came out good, but I wan't happy with the 11 x 11. I think it's really expensive, then to have to mount it on CS.
I was looking at the following printers. I hope you guys could help me out here. I haven't done digital since (I figure why do it if I can't print it!) and now I'm going through withdrawls! I've read reviews on e-opinions and amazon, but I would love to hear from scrappers.

The printers I've been looking at are the following. I really wish there was more out there for 12x12, but I may just have to stick with an 8 1/2 x 11 printer. If you have another one not listed, I'd love to hear about it. Confuse me more! LOL

HP 7960 - prints last up to 73 yrs according to Digital Scrapbooking!
Canon i900 - heard from amazon photos faded after 6 mos! (but it does 12 x12)
Canon i950 - heard pretty good things, but worried about how long the print will last.

Thanks so much in advance for your input!

Canon i950 is the one I use. It is amazing. I too worry about the longevity of the inks, however.
I think I'll research it.

Check out this thread. Some time ago I asked about experiences with HP 7960, this is what the others had to say about it.

Experiences with HP 7960 or 7260?

I decided!

Thanks so much for all the info. I did a search on each of the printers. I think I finally decided on the HP 7960. I mainly decided for the article on the pictures lasting up 73 yrs. That was really important to me as well as the quality of the photo, and seperate ink cartridges.
I'll let you know what I think after I get it and play with it a little while. Sams has it for $159!!!
I understand it was close to $600 when it first came out?!?!

Did you find it a Sam's online or at your Sam's store? I might break down and ask DH for this for Christmas. THANKS!

Don't worry too much about how long the layouts are giong to last on printed paper... So long as you back everything up on CD you can print them again and again and again.. No one knows for certain how long non-professional/non-archival ink based printouts are giong to last.. The beuty of digital is in the ability to back things up and pritn them again later.. I love the i960 printer - ink prices are low (~$9.99 per cart) and I love the ease of use..
