Yet another printing at Costco question for 6x6 layouts

Ladies, the amount of knowledge I've gained from reading all of your
posts on this site is immeasurable. I am humbled by your intelligence.

One thing I just can't get figured out is printing.

Here are the details.

I am a new digiscrapper and I have not printed any of my LO's yet.
I use PSP X and I have set the majority of my LO's in 6x6.

I want to upload my LO's to Costco.com and pick them up at the store.

I understand that Costco will let you print on a 12x18 for $2.99.

What I can't figure out is how do you place six 6x6 layouts on the new 12x18 canvas. How do you do this? CAN you do this?

Thank you so much in advance.

I'm not sure about PSP (I have it but don't really use it) but in PS I resize all the layouts to 6x6 then pull them into a 12x18 canvas and line them up in 2 rows of 3. Then I will merge them and shrink that layer to 98% so that I get a white edge all the way around it, save as a jpg and upload that for printing. I do that because I can make sure that nothing essential that is near the edge is cut off.

I hope this helsp some.

It would work the same way in PSP as Serena described for PS.
But we can't just shrink one layer on a image, but you can use the deform tool and just bring in your merged layer until you see the white area evenly around all four sides. (You could do minor adjusting with the move tool also if you need to line it up just right)
98% at that size, I am guessing is just a very few pixels right Serena?

Yes, Haley. It's just a little bit and when you get the print it's usually not showing the white part. I do this since I tend to have stuff near the edges and hate to have anything cut off. I have an action that makes my 12x18s for me and I love it. That reminds me that I have some stuff to print.

Thanks for the responses but I still don't get it.

Can someone walk me through step by step HOW to pull my 6x6 LO's into a new canvas?

I open a new page, resize it to 12x18. Then what? Each time I open a 6x6 LO, it doesn't fit right into my new canvas.

Again, I'm using PSP X.

(right now, I'm not worried about ultimately resizing it to 98%. I just want to get my LO's onto a printable page!!) Grrr...so frustrating being a newbie.

Do I just copy and paste the 6x6 LO into the 12x18?

You said "pull". Is that the same as Copy and Paste?

Thanks.

You can do this.. create the 12x18 like you did.. then, open each 6x6. Grab the Move tool and drag it into the new image and let go. The 6x6 will now be a new layer in the 12x18. You can then move it around to line it up how you like. Rinse and repeat. If you need to make the 6x6 a bit smaller to allow for a border, then use the transform tool, hold down shift and drag a corner until the square is resized.. Good Luck1
