I did a Nero InfoTool and under ASPI it says that there are ASPI file(s) missing. It says I have WNASPI32.dll and WINASPI.dll. Anyone know what is missing and where I could download it from? I am wondering if this is why it won't burn, could this cause the problem?

Do a Google search and you'll find a lot of sources and references for these files.

Is your DVD drive a SCSI device? You only use ASPI files for SCSI drives.. if you don't have a SCSI DVD burner (probably not), then you shouldn't have these drivers even loaded... unless you have a RAID setup for your hard drives?

Well.. you'd probably know if you had it. A SCSI drive is a must faster interface than your typical IDE cabled DVD drive. A SCSI hard drive system in RAID is a high speed hard drive system that blows away most standard IDE and SATA hard drives.

They are quite costly so you'd know if you had one... I'm guessing you don't so you shouldn't have to worry about ASPI files.

Did you try uninstalling the hardware, rebooting the PC and letting it find the hardware again? This will reinstall the XP drivers and may solve the problem..
