Yes its why very few Aussie's print 12x12 or even at a lab here - its is far too expensive an option for anything but standard photographic sizes.

I've got a little flyer here from Harvey Norman Canningon (WA) that says Monday's are half price for all 6x8 to A1 Digital Prints. That must apply to 12x12's too I guess. I don't know if it is just the Cannington store, or all Harvey Norman's though...
