Unhappy Canon i9900 ICC profile for Epson paper

Hello!

It has been a LOOONG time since I have been on SBB and I am trying to get back to scrapping by learning more about Photoshop and other issues like color management. As I am just learning about this topic, please forgive me if I make a technical mistake in my request.

I was wondering if anyone has, or knows where I can find, a Canon i9900 ICC profile (for Mac) for Epson's PremierArt Matte Scrapbook Photo Paper (the true 12x12 paper)?

I have bought the monitor calibration hardware and software so that I will get accurate color reproduction, but now I have read that you also need to calibrate your printer to the particular type of paper you use.

My mind is currently swimming with all this technical color management stuff!!

Well.. you have a slight problem here. You are trying to use an epson paper product on a canon printer. In reality.. this isn't a problem in most cases so long as the paper is made to be used with a dye ink printer like the i9900. .. however, icc profiles are designed by manufacturers to be used with their printers, their inks and their papers.. so you will only find free icc profiles for epson printers and epson ink for the epson paper on the Epson web site.

Now.. if you really want to be totally color correct, you will need to have a custom icc profile created for this paper for your printer and ink. Or, You can check out some of the custom profile makers.. drycreek photo (drycreekphoto.com)_is well respected and does have a custom profile for the Epson matte paper for your printer. I would suggest you buy it and try it and see if it works for you..

Good Luck.
