After you finish your layout, merge all of your layers and save this as a new file. This new file will have only one layer.

or use Save for Web which will auto merge all layers into the jpeg while leaving your original PSD file intack with all layers (in case you accidently save it after merging the layers..)

I heard from a non digital scrapper that Cosco will use Kodak paper unless you use 1 hr. processing, then you get Fuji which she is positive is superior. Thoughts on that????

It's like a lot of things. Personal preference. Which printer is the best? The one I own. Which camera is the best. The one I own. Which browser? Which operating system? Etc., etc. Both Kodak and Fuji papers are excellent papers. In the past, Fuji had brighter and prettier blues and greens and Kodak had brighter and prettier reds and yellows. I would be willing to guess that now, unless you were a professional photographer who has a custom lab doing your printing, you couldn't tell the difference unless you looked on the back and saw the name.

Just my two bytes worth.

I couldn't agree more.. don't worry about the paper from a place like costco.. so long as you like the print, great. If you want to get some prints done on professional paper for just a few cents more.. check out whcc.. I order all my professional photos for clients (and personal use) from them. They use Kodak Endura paper (very high quality) on pro level archival printers. I can order all from the comfort of my home using the very easy ROES ordering software. And.. because they require you to embed an sRGB profile and crop to exact size at 300 ppi.. I know that what I send them will match perfectly to what I get - no so at Costco where they don't use profiles and auto crop things at their own whim (ie: the need to add 1/8" to all layouts, etc).

Anyway.. jsut thought I'd share!

How much is a 12x12 (or 18) from WHCC? And how do you embed the sRGB profile?

a 12x12 is $3.60 with free shipping - they do have a $12 minimum order or you spend $5 shipping. You embed the sRGB profile by simply clicking the box when you save a jpg to embed a profile. The profiles are setup in the color space settings if using photoshop. I can't recommend them enough - they really do great work!
