WHAT? Who is this "Real Technician"? I've built systems like this for over 5 years... what steps are missing..? Turn on the PC by hitting the big button on the case? Sure, perhaps I left off a few "duh" steps.. but then again..

If it is not complete.. I"d love to see what your "Real Techinician" adds to this list.. don't forget to screw a fan to the case?

LOL... love this one.. that's like saying.. don't try to use photoshop UNLESS you are a Real Graphics artist with years of training... Lol... yeah - let's tell people not to try something unless you have "technical skills and training".. great message there...

Whatever... go to Best Buy and buy your next system.. leave the building to us "technically trained" people.

Note to Self: This is why you left in the first place... Reminder to Self: stop trying to be helpful!!!

While we at SBB love that our members help eachother, we would like to remind everyone that SBB can not be held responsible or liable for any damage that is done when following directions given by other members on our boards. (that goes for all hardware related threads - not just this one)

Pesto - I don't think that Arti thinks the members here incapable of doing new things, she just knows, from being the wife of a computer tech, that people who do not know what they are doing can cause hundreds of dollars in damage....she doesn't want to see the members here have to go through that.

I noticed when reading your steps that there were some things that a "tech" would do automaticlly that a lay person, would not know.... ie grounding yourself... that could be a very costly mistake that not just anyone would know (don't ask me how I know :S my husband was not very happy when I found out the hard way )

Ditto. It's always best to consult a qualified technician when you aren't sure of what you're doing.

Yes, because Photoshop won't electrocute me if I make a mistake, thankfully enough!

Fair enough... I just don't appreciate the condescending nature and tone of her message.. As you state.. we are here to help each other - give advice. Arti has NO idea who I am, what I do for a living or how technical or non0technical I am. If I gave you a recipe for cookies... would you say to consult a REAL COOK before trying the recipe.. or would you say thank you.. it looks good? Perhaps she would comment on using shortening instead of butter for a flakier crust... but I doubt she would exclaim Don't Do this!

Whatever... same ole things at good ole SBB.

Pesto, I'm so sorry you were offended by Arti's comments. I REALLY appreciated your comments and input. One of the things I love about forums in general are all the wonderful helpful people out there - you are definitely one of them.

I hope to see you in forums soon.

I just got a Dell laptop with a dual processor about 2 months ago and I have loved it! It runs multiple applications with ease and I can have PS & DIP open at the same time That makes me happy. You should really go with the dual processor.
