Question Epson R1800 and roll paper

I got my Epson R1800 so I could switch to 12 x 12 format but haven't done so yet. My favorite paper is the Epson Premium Glossy that does not come in 12 x 12. I did see that they have 13" by 32' on a roll. Has anyone used roll paper with their R1800? Does the printer cut at the end of each print so that I would be left with trimming just the excess inch from one side?

Is there any issue with curling or otherwise that I should know about?

Thanks for any input.

Hi.. The R1800 does not include a paper cutter.. only the R2200 and up include this feature (although, it is known that most users do not use it anyway...). So, you would have to trim all side manually. In addition, the Roll paper has been prone to permanent curl even after being pressed under books for days... this affects the 4 inch roll more than the larger size.. but it is recommended that you do not cut from the roll for a few days and reverse roll for curl blocking.

Good Luck!

Sounds like alot of work! I wish this paper came in 12 x 12 sheets. Time to put in another message to Epson Customer Service!

HI there!

You can get almost all of professional papers in 13x19, so you could print 1 12x12 layout and 2 6x6's at the bottom (or 3 4x6s). It's $35.99 for 20 sheets at Atlex. Here's the link to the Premium Glossy Photo Paper: http://www.atlex.com/epson-paper/pre...ossy-photo.htm

Hope that helps,

Leigh
