Loving My New Scanner!

My mum bought me a new scanner for my birthday next week as she was buying herself one and reckoned she got a better deal by buying two Its a Canon LiDE 500 and this morning I used its Multi Scan function to scan 105 old photos for my grandparents in about 2 hours at 600dpi each with fabulous results! It divides the photos into their own file.
Love it! If you have the multi scan fucntion and havent used it yet - give it a try!

Your mom sounds like my kind of shopper! Glad you're happy with your scanner!

You've inspired me to start using my scanner on some slides that I want to preserve in another format. Out of curiosity, why did you scan at 600dpi? Is it because they were smaller pictures and you want to be able to enlarge them? Always looking for more info re scanning!

Hi
Mainly yes - they were old pictures that required a fair bit of editing and some that needed cropping so 600ppi gives me a few more pixels to work with than a 300ppi scan. Id rather have extra than not enough so I always scan anything that is smaller than a 8x10 at 600ppi in tif format
