Cannon Compatible Cartridge for your printer?

I have a Canon Pixma iP8500 and I need to buy more printer cartridges and I found all these websites for compatible cartirdges.. Has anyone tried ordering these? Anyone used any of these sites? I hate ordering something I have no clue about but they are so much cheaper than the cannon ones. I want the best quility printing too.
Plus I dont want give my cc away to a site that I have never heard of!

I i'm not sure if this is going to help or not. I have a Canon printer and have tryed the cheaper, "none brandname" ink and I will stick with canon ink because it doesn't seem to last as long, it dries out quicker. Plus if you still have warrenty on your printer and you use a none brandname ink it voids your warrenty.

Julia,

Katherine is correct. I have a Cannon printer and if you have a Cannon printer, you must use Cannon products - ink cartridges as well as photo paper. If you do not, you will not like the result.

I have used the canon photo paper and the staples photo paper and I like both. Accually I now use the Staples Professional Photo Paper because I get the same results as the Canon paper. As for using the Kodak photo paper in my canon printer I had some big issues, the image looked really bad and the picture seemed the flake off.

Refills

I have a Cannon printer and I have gotten my cartridges refilled at a local refill store and I have used their brand with no problems. As for paper, I have used many different brands especially Staples also without any problems. The only paper I had a problem with was with the "Everyday HP Paper" and if you read the fine print it tells you not to use it with Cannon Printers. I figure by the time I have a problem with my printer from generic ink I will want a new updated printer by then anyways. Happy Printing!

I have an Epson printer and use generic ink. For the money I save, I am pleased with the results. My understanding is that manufacturers aren't allowed to void warranties due to not using specific products unless they provide that specific product. Has anybody else heard this?

I've been using a generic from a company I found on e-bay. They warentee that their replacement ink is made by the same supplier as Cannon uses. It has been wonderful in both my epson and canon I950. I did buy that HP paper and had the same problems I would stick with canon or epson paper
