canon printer

I have been shopping around for a printer now for a few weeks and most people told me that the canon printer will begin to fade within five years time. This scares me for the simple fact that several people told me this (employees of the stores). I also have seen faded pictures of my own, but that was prior to all this technology too. I believe what they say may have some truth simply because they were comparing them to other large format printers in equal or lesser value to the Canon. It wasn't just a gimmick to get more money, know what I mean? Plus, the new Epson, very pricey though, has the new archival feature which is supposed to preserve pictures from 100 to 200 years. BUT, everyone here raves about the Canon so good luck!
