generic ink and paper for canon i9950/i9000

I have had the canon i9950 for about 3 months and I am experimenting with generic inks.
Has anyone used these with this printer?

And also what paper do you all use?
I use the very cheap Canon HR101 A3+ size (works out to about 50c Aust. )and although the paper is not thick the print results are great and they work very well in the albumn sleeves. Supposedly more archivally safe than other Canon papers also?

The generic ink results are not as good as the original - but SOO much cheaper when you are printing so many LOs. I am considering having a proffessional profile done for the paper I use - although it will probably cost quite a lot but if the results are good the savings will be enormous.

Anyone know a good profiler?

I have the canon i9900 but I've only ever used canon paper & ink in it, so I'm sorry I'm of no help!

What kind of paper is the Canon HR101 A3+? And, what does it mean to have a profile done?
