I love whcc.com too! they have great quality and I like that they use the professional paper. I use them for my personal and commercial printing.

I finally got around to making a test print. I created a 12 x 12 layout, saved it as a .jpg, and took the file to Costco's digital machine. I was very happy with the quality and price (only $2.99) - BUT - their machine does this zoom and crop thing, so the edges were clipped. How do you all get around this? Does the whcc place do the same? I guess I could work around it by not filling my pages to the edge.

Also, how do you all put your books together? What size prints do you use, and how do you bind them? Do they make plastic sleeves in sizes other than 12 x 12 or 8 1/2 x 11?

Thanks again! The help from this site has been great!

WHCC prints exactly what you upload...so you save your file at exactly 12x12 @300dpi, and it will be printed 12x12, no cropping. That is why I've never liked any of the non-pro printing services...I hate it when they crop part of my layout!

I put all my prints in a normal 12x12 scrapbook album with the protective sleeves. I also have a few 8x8 albums because I can print this size on my home printer.

FYI-

8 x 8

Where can you have 8 x 8s printed off with no cropping...WHCC does not offer 8 x 8 size...
Thanks, Nancy

Actually, they do. For some reason, they don't have it specified on their price sheet, but you can put it under "other" on your order form, and then under special instructions, ask that they trim the 8x8's to size (because I believe they print them on 8x10 paper).

I just got a bunch of layouts printed by them and they are spectacular!! And their customer service is awesome - I called them so many times because I was having trouble with the ftp process and they were incredibly patient. This was my first experience with them and it really was wonderful!

Let me get this straight...

Okay let me get this straight...so I can order and 8 x 8 from them under other. Would I still upload the image then as an 8 x 8 from my computer or 8 x 10 with the image pasted on as 8 x 8? Am I making any sense here? I appreciate your help.
I have heard it is complicated to get your whcc account set up so I have been holding off...sounds like I should just get it done!

I just uploaded my actual 8x8 layout.

If you have any problems, just call them - they are incredibly nice (I must have called at least 10 times, trying to figure out the ftp thing - spoke with all three representatives - Phillip, Kelley & Kelsey - maybe there are more but those are the three I spoke with).

I'm going to try Adorama Pix. Someone else on these forums recommended them, and they print a large variety of sizes without cropping. I have no personal experience yet, but I want to give them a shot because they do 8 1/2 x 11 - my preferred size.
