Question Canon i9900 trouble - please help!

Help! I am trying to print a 8.5 x 8.5 layout onto 8.5 x 11 paper - I want it to print borderless.

I can't figure out how to do this! The Canon i9900 manual says to use the Easy-Photoprint software that came with the printer so ... I followed the steps but under #3 Layout/Print, when I chose Borderless (Full), the preview showed the bottom of my layout being cutoff! Rotating it doesn't matter - some of my layout is still cutoff.

Then I tried to print directly from PSCS. I went to File>Print with Preview. It defaulted to "scaled print size 100% and 8.5 x 8.5". I clicked on Page Set Up and chose Letter, then clicked on "Printer" and chose Canon, and under Properties, I chose my paper and size. I clicked the Page Setup tab and tried to choose "borderless printing" but got a message that said:

"The document to be printed is so enlarged that it slightly extends off the paper. Print quality may deteriorate or the sheet may be stained at the top and bottom, depending on the type of media used."

So then I figured - why do I need to specify borderless if my layout is already 8.5 wide and so is the paper and I'm printing with a scaled print size of 100%??

But, if I don't check "borderless printing" and just go to print it, I get another message that says:

"The image is larger than the paper's printable area; some clipping will occur"

What am I doing wrong??

Disclaimer - I know nothing about Canons!! But try this. When you get the error message about it enlarging yada yada...can you just click ok and print? Most printers that do borderless have to enlarge the picture or layout to ensure that it really goes all the way to the edge, so they'll give you that warning. You might be able to minimize the amount of the enlargement if you have that option in your printer driver.

But you do need to tell it borderless, even if your image size matches the size of the paper. Otherwise it will scale it down or crop it (so you lose some of your image).

OK - I'll try just clicking "ok" - I've just been too chicken because I hate to waste ink & paper but I can't figure out what else to do. Thanks for giving me the little push I needed! Geesh - I gotta learn to loosen up and take a little risk once in awhile!
