This may be the perfect printer!

Epson is coming out with a new model, R1800. If only I could have waited (just bought the R800 about a month ago).

Borderless printing for 4” x 6”, 5” x 7”, 8” x 10”, 8.5” x 11”, 11” x 14”, 12” x 12”, 13” x 19”, and panoramic prints. Print longevity claims to be from 104 to 200 years on a variety of Epson paper types.
$549
Here's a link to the full specs:

whoa....

Thanks for the news flash. I am waiting as we speak for my new Dell PC to arrive today. I have been researching printers to buy and was sad to see the Epson R800 did not print a full 8.5 x 11 page! WOW now this printer is something to consider! Thanks again for posting. I find this site as useful as any of the pc site reviews sometimes!

Until tomorrow when HP and Canon announce their new printers that will also... its a never ending game. Cheaper to just print your layouts online via the myriad of companies that do this once they are complete... save $$$$ big time!

Actually, the R800 WILL print a borderless 8.5x11 (as well as 8x10, 5x7, and 4x6). I have several of them. But if you do any 12x12 at all, get the 1800 for $150 more! It's a fantastic printer!

I'm not so sure about online companies saving you any money. The 1800 prints with pigment inks, and the layouts are extremely archival when printed on our papers (they've been independently tested to last at least 100 years under glass on the wall, and 200 years in your album). And the cost per printed 12x12 layout is typically under $2 a page (cost of the inks and paper) assuming you print on both sides of the paper (the scrapbook paper is double sided). I haven't seen an online store that can come anywhere close to that in price or quality...

It will?!?! How do you do this? Do you have to create a custom borderless paper size?
