Unfortunatly, it's usually not just a matter of changing the printer driver. Borderless support for 12x12 would have to be built into the hardware of the printer itself. We have been BEGGING for it for a long time, and with the 1800 they finally included 12x12 borderless support.

After I got my new printer, I talked to Canon support several times. They told me that it was just a change to the print driver. I don't know if that is true, but it is what they said. They don't support 12 x 12 borderless because they don't sell the 12 x 12 paper (so, sell it already!).

I am hoping that now that Epson has introduced this new printer that does 12 x 12 borderless, maybe Canon will step up and make the changes necessary (if, indeed, it is just chaning the print driver).

Photo Books at Sharedink.com

I just recently had the brilliant (new) idea that maybe I should have by scrapbooks bound. I didn't know everyone already does that. In reading through some of the comments here regarding Sharedink.com and mypublisher.com, I'm confused and hope some of you can clear some things up for me.

For one thing, I have a MAC and there is a program called iphoto. Books can be ordered through them as well, but the reason I never considered that is because it appears that you can only supply them with photos in there own (various) formats, i.e.,
storybook form, various pix per page, etc. But it does not appear to be an option thatyou can just send them your escrapped pages to print and put in a book. If any of you have used this service, is that true?

I never knew about Sharedink.com, but after reading through here, I went to their website. I see that many of you have said that they print 12 x 12 borderless but on their website they only offer 12 x 9 or 8 x 6 (did I miss it?) Also, it appears that they are offering only the same type of scenario as iPhoto in that you use their layouts. I'm assuming that is not true, but how do you specify to them that you want your own pages?

Thanks for any help.
Arlene

The last time I looked into Apple's iBook bound books (about a year ago) only one-sided printing was available. I don't know if that has changed or not. You can, however create your layouts and have them printed full bleed in the book. One of the page setup options is just a one-picture-per-page layout, so you could select that for all your pages. I never actually ordered a book, so I can't comment beyond that.

One company that looks interesting to me for bound books is photoworks.com -- has anyone tried them?

Have you tried Spaark printable albums?

Hi,

I came across the Spaark album in Scrapbook Craft - it's a complete kit with software, punched pages and album covers - everything you need to personalise your pages (you can do virtually anything with the software) and print on your inkjet printer. Maybe a good solution for you - not sure if it's Mac compatible.

I have had bags of fun with it!

Good luck,

Minkie

Hi Rochelle,

It was mentioned in a UK magazine called Scrapbook Craft. You can find out more from the Spaark website: www.spaarkphotoprintables.com - and also buy from there.

Good luck!

Minkie
