Maximizing New Windows in XP????

Please forgive me if this is the wrong spot to post this but I have a question that maybe one of you knows about....

I discovered I had a virus and it pretty much leveled my computer. I had to recover and blah, blah, blah.... I won't bore you with more details as I'll end up swearing like a long shoreman who just got kicked upside the head with a frozen boot! haha

Anyway.... I'm back up and running now and can't remember how I changed my settings on the computer to always open up a new window in maximum size. Before the untimely demise of my computer, I could shift and click on something and it would open it in a new window that was already maximized.... now it opens in a small (and useless) window and I have to keep clicking the button to maximize it. I can't for the life of me find where I changed that before. Is this ringing a bell with anyone? I'd sure appreciate it if someone could point out to me where I look to find that option again....

Here's to hopin'...

Mary Fran,
See if this will help you:

Start IE, right click any link on a web page, and select Open in a New Window.
Go back to the first IE window you opened and close it.
Return to the second window and manually drag it to fill the screen.
(Do not use the maximize button, for that's a temporary setting that will not be retained.)

Now press the Ctrl button, and close this second window, holding the Ctrl button depressed, using 'close' in the File menu (important!).
All windows should now open maximized.

I got it from here:

Here's hoping the works for you!

This is too much of a coincidence - I am having that very same problem and it just started today!! We don't have any viruses that I'm aware of (crossing my fingers) but just today, each time I click on a link, a new window opens but it is minimized. Yesterday, every new window opened up already maximized. Can't figure it out and like you - I can't figure out how to change it!!

Hey Mary Fran!

I hope that now that you've told your computer a thing or two that PS is running better for you! Good luck getting everything back the way you like it.
