You won't regret it Carin, welcome aboard, it;s the safest and most relaxing way to travel, do it digi! With a cuppa coffee and feet up.
Well I clicked post it, and then of course saw that your location is the Netherlands, if you don't mind sharing what inspires you in Holland? I went for delft since my favourite colour is blue, but what would your pick for a "Dutch LO" be? THanks in advance, yours zin

uhm I think my dutch layout would be cheese and licorise hahahahahaha, windmills, cows, orange from our royal house, wooden clogs *no not everyone wears those most farmers still do* and tulips and stroopwafels offcourse.

Stroopwafels are uhm very thin baked waffles with a caramel filling. Friends of ours send buckets of stropwafels to family in the usa each month
But well I think delfstblauw is great to work with, allthough it makes it a bit harder to match my typical dutch pictures hahaha I was all for adding Sinterklaas since that is a dutch traditional festive but my pics do not match delfst blauw so I'm gonna dig up something else

I just had to reply here. I was in the Netherlands in May of 05 for the 60 year veterans celebrations. I absolutely adored it there and wanted to stay. One of my fav things was the stroopwafels. I brought some home with me. I also got a pair of wooden shoes and my host family gave me a little delft candle holder. I can`t say enough about the Netherlands. I will maybe give this challenge a try.

Goodie-good-good, Ang! We are happy to see anything we can to help us learn more about the world around us. I have already learnt something new about Holland this week, if and when I go back, I must keep my eyes peeled for the stroopwafels, one thing I'd love to do one day, is go and visit at the Queen's day end of April, because there is a very special market in Amsterdam I gather. If there are any experts to tell us more, please, do. TIA

I uploaded my result, i'm not totally happy but well it was a try

The markets your referring at, are held on queensday *koninginnedag* in almost each and every town in the Netherlands, here in my city it's most kids that sell their toys, they are called free markets. They start selling as early as 5 or 6 o clock.

It's a GREAT way to buy awesome bargains, I usually go out at 6 in the morning to score the best things. We always make a 'seeklist' like special books from certain writers, or that 1 special toy the kids miss, and usually we end up with a car full of things for only 25 dollar or something. mostly books, toys for in the yard, and last year we also had 2 great gazelle bikes for the kids.
