Could somebody clarify for me the exact size restrictions when submitting to the ezine. It says no more than 450 wide - 450 what? Sorry, I am having a "dense" moment today I guess!

it's probably 450 pixels by 450 pixels for a LO sample...

That would roughly mean it would need to be resized as a 6x6 at 72 ppi... When you save that as a jpg, it would come out at no more than 450x450... If you wanted to go up to 96ppi, it would need to be roughly 4.5" by 4.5"
