6 x 6 printing?

I bought a 6x6 Christmas album and like the format, but wondered about printing. It seems like a huge waste of photo paper.

Anyone else print their own layouts at 6x6 and do you just waste the paper or put something else on it?

I don't paper scrap so wouldnt need to print anything else on it...

thanks!
Carole

Hi, Carole. (I feel like I'm talking to myself!)

I recently bought a couple of these smaller albums and like the 6x6 format as well. I plan to save the scraps for photos that I share with family and friends. I've also used them for printing layouts I've re-sized smaller that I display in my cubicle at work. I thought I might try printing a few layouts at 4x6 just to see how they look. You can find so many inexpensive albums that size that I thought this might be a way to share with others as well. DH uses the scraps for test prints--he's very picky about the finished product and usually goes through 3 or 4 before the final printing. Since his finall prints are oversize, I usually have scraps from his 13x19 that are just right for my 6x6 pages.

Just a few ideas.

If you split a piece of 12x12 paper in half, you can use it in an 8.5x11 printer, just do a few test prints to figure out which side of the paper tray to align with. Print one page, turn the paper and print a second page on the other end. You can also use the extra space on an 8.5x11 paper to print bookmarks, 2x3 photos for a custom Memory or other card game, or 4x4 LOs for a quiet book or mini gift album.

This is probably more for 8x8 pages, but someone once (can't remember where I read this so CREDIT to the person who came up with this)...anyway, she would use the bottom portion of the paper to keep details about the LO. Elements credits, fonts, info about the paper, etc along with a mini image of the LO, and then stored them in a file for quick reference. If you ever plan to submit for publication, this is a good idea
