I was organizing by having a folder with the label "digital scrapbooking" and then I had folders within that with "elements, fonts etc.." and then the website and creator inside those folders and then when it got big enough I would burn it on a CD (because I had so much my computer was getting slow). HOWEVER it made it kinda hard to find what was on what CD and took too long so I just started skipping the "digital scrapbooking "folder and now I just have the "elements, fonts etc.." folders and I wait till they get big enough and then burn them to CD (DVD is better if you have it, it holds more) This way if I'm working on a page I just simply pop in the CD for the things I need, if I'm ready for elements I pop in the "elements" CD and I don't have to comb through papers or alphas to find elements. It also makes it easier if you have a page of little preview pics for the CD so you don't always have to put the CD to see whats on it. Its what works for me anyways. Best of Luck to you

I do the same like Lil_Button_99, but after that I use a software for catalogue those CDs/DVDs,. its name is " Whereisit", there I can see all the folders an files into the cd, if I need it I look the CD number or name, it's easir find the right CD, because I have lots!! LOL
Oh! the most interest part I discovered is that I can save a thumb image of the files I'm more intersted and all previous. so I can see them an choose elements/kits/etc, and I don't need the CD/DVD.

Hope this help!

When you've got everything into folders BURN THEM TO CD. I hadn't and then the computer crashed out big time! ! ! I've managed to recover some but not all. And I had such a lovely LO of my daughter's wedding but it's gone, I'll have to start all over again. I've learned the lesson.........back it up a soon as possible.

I've been using PSE3. It will let me burn from within the program, saving a small thumbnail of the elements for me. If I want to use an element, it will tell me which cd to put in my computer. I like it because I can send it straight to the editor and use the kit/elemnt. I also have used it to make separate catalogues. I have a catalogue of pictures I have taken, one of the kits and elements I have downloaded and another for the finished pages.
At the time I posted this, my dh has just given me an entire 100cd spindle of disks for Christmas so I can burn some more things.

first off...i use an external hardrive bought solely for all my graphics work and music...it has 55.4 GB way more space then i could ever need....when we leave the house for an extended amount of time, it goes in our fire proof safe - i would die if i lost all the stuff on it!!!

i have a completely diff system of organizing, it seems like...

all kits have their own folder, i name the folder w/ something that tells me what the kit is...i have some very simply named: ie. blue retro kit...all the way to something more detailed and long....i actually need to go thru and rename some stuff...sometimes i change the names if i forget something is there!

the thumbnail image of the folder is the kit's preview page....

w/in each kit folder - is the Read Me file, which has all the info (designer, etc)...and any other relavent info: website, etc...

i also keep ALL zip files w/in the kit folder! why? because i have many times gone to unzip something and for some reason, something doesnt get unzipped....

when i start getting close to running out of room, i will burn kits i never use....and start deleting the zip files

i prefer simple, quick and easy....and this is the most simple and easiest way i have found to organize

Have been doanloading kits for sometime now.I burn my kits say from SBB elements to data disc with this name this can be done either on a dvd or cd so I can add more to it from same sight.I keep a preview file folder for the kits that have priviews I make sure that the kit preview has same name as the kit. This folder can be kept on my pc.I also make a data dvd or cd of previews. In case of pc crash. For me this is best way to make room on pc.In this way you will still have all the kit information including the readme file and all pertinant info provided you kept this info.
