Sindea those pages are absolutely gorgeous!! I love the blue theme and the stories your mother shared with you! She will just FLIP over this! I had the same idea to do a book for my dad. First was going to do it for his b-day, then Christmas but... didn't get it finished. Had to get my new computer 1st Couldn't do it with the old one. Then I asked his wife to send me some copies of photos that I wanted to include and I let her in on my plan but she didn't get me the pictures Said she didn't have the time. Sigh... Guess I'll just do one with the photos I have.
How did My Publisher do for you?? Are you happy with the quality, pricing, etc..?? I've never done a coffee table book before and would love to do a few eventually. I've been following the various threads about them but still just wondering how pleased you were with them.
Anyway tfs!! I'm kind of glad now I waited to try and start his book again. Love all the inspiration!!

Thanks! Part of me feels I should have made more complicated pages, but I wanted it to be a simple and clean lines book. I actually went over to my mom's last year and organized 65 yrs worth of disorganized photos, negatives and keepsakes. Then I snagged negs and began scanning months ago. Then took pics from an album I did not have negs for and scanned those. I am sure she will like it, but I always feel family members do not realize the time that goes into these gifts!

Here is the one for my il's- not so simple, I wanted to get a theme going for them, but instead went page by page, but kept the similar pages together in the book.

I hope you can get some pics of your dad soon, does he live far away? Want me to have a little talk with the wife?

Gorgeous!! I just love BOTH books LOL! Maybe I should have you "talk" to my step-mother!! They're about 3hrs away from me in Eastern Kentucky! My mother passed away in 1985 and dad married this woman 4yrs. later. He was lonely. She's OK but I think she knows how much in love with my mother my dad still is. He talks alot about mom and even gave me all the love letters he wrote to her when he was fighting in the Korean war. I'm not supposed to read them and I'm supposed to sneak them into his casket and have them buried with him when he dies! Geeze!! What he doesn't know (yet) is that I will be scanning the outside of some of these to use in a lo. They're still wrapped in the blue satin ribbon my mother tied them with

Anyway I think your right too on the fact that it seems sometimes family (and friends) just don't realize just how much work and time these lo's take. I have a aunt that I'd LOVE to do a book for. She and her dh rave over my gallery and of course that makes me feel like a big shot! lol!

I just spotted your thread "My Publisher Woes" so I'm off to read it! Your work is fantastic!! Love your sparkle brush work on your IL's pages!

Sindea; I've got someone you can have a little talk with for me...

My MIL(lol) I've been trying to get pictures of my DH by himself without his twin sis, for over 5 years now... My DH asked his mom yet again, she said she gave them to a SIL who was supposed to scan them all and give each of his siblings, a CD so they could all print what they wanted... He got furious(under his breathe of course) She said she had bought the other SIL a $500 scanner in return for doing it ALL for everyone... Needless to say she's(SIL) has had them the whole time now(about 7 years) My MIL hasn't had them in her possession since before I asked the 1st time, which was to do a video for our wedding reception... And to this date I still don't have any photos of my DH as a child other than the few he had that had both he and his twin in... I guess I'm learning at this point to just forget it... it'll never happen... that way if it does(a miracle in itself) I will be so pleased

Anyway, sorry for the tangent...

I think it's an awesome gift for your mother! I really need to get all the stories down my mother has shared with me through the years, before it's too late, so she can make sure I heard them right(lol)
