Printing on 12x12 paper

I've just bought an Epson 1280 large format printer and I can't seem to print the page to fit 12x12 paper. The page is either too small for the page or it pushes it down in the corner and cuts part of the page off. I'm using PSE to make my scrapbook pages and now want to print them out but nothing is working. The album is a Christmas gift so any help would be appreciated.

I am assuming you are printing on Epsons 12x12 paper.

I have an Epson 2200 and what I did (in PSE) was set up a User Defined paper size (last option in paper sizes) as 1200x1200 (0.01inch) and named it scrapbook page. In the advanced options set your printer to minimize margins. It tells you that it may reduce the quality, but I haven't noticed the difference. Then when I go to print I resize my page to 11.667 x 11.667 inches. In fact this is the size I create all my pages in right now.

You will have a border of white around your page because there is no way right now to do borderless on the 12x12, but most of the time it doesn't matter to me. And if you must have it borderless then you will have to use the 13x19 paper and trim. But I'm not sure if that paper is able to print on both sides since it doesn't specifically state it like the 12x12.

Hope that helps, its my first time posting here on the site. (Been here for only a couple of weeks and loving it!)

Hope this helps

Hello,

The below is a copy and pasted in section from other posts that I have made about priniting on 12X12 paper. I have a wide format Canon, but I use Epson's "12X12" paper.

too have a 13X17 Canon printer and I use photoshop cs, printing on Epson's (supposed) 12X12 Matte scrapbooking paper. You can not actually print true borderless 12x12 layouts as Canon's printing software (I can't remember its name) does not come with 12X12 as a preset borderless size. (I have already emailed them to consider adding it in their next version of the software. Maybe you would like to do the same so that they know it is a size desired by many.) Another issue is that Epson's 12X12 paper is really not 12X12, but 11.6 X 11.6. The closet I have come to true borderless printouts that don't cut off my LO's is to do the following. I make certain that the paper size is set for 11.6 X 11.6. I then resize my LO's to 11.6 X 11.6 from 12X12, the difference is so minor that my LO's are not distorted by the resizing. Then in photoshop when I go to print, even though I can leave the percentage at 100%, since I have already resized the LO and set the paper size to 11.6, I stil check off the box for shrink to fit, this results in the LO being printed at 97.something percent and the whole LO is printed.

I still end up with prints that are not borderless, but when I truly want borderless, I just cut the LO's with a cutter I have that comes with different decorative blades so the edges look fantastic. I assume that if you really want 12X12 and absolutely no hassle, you could print out a 12X12 LO, at 100%, on 13X19 papper and just cut off the excess.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Thanks for your help, I've printed my first 12x12 page! I hadn't gotten the 12x12 Epson paper when I posted but went out last night and found some. There was a disk for Panorama Maker included with the paper so with their instructions and your suggestions I managed to figure out what I was doing wrong.

I have another question though. Even though I checked the center box, the page wasn't actually centered. Is this the way it should print or will this be corrected when I resize my page? The page came out with about an 1/8" on the top and left and just under 1/2" on right and bottom. Is there a way to make it actually center on the page?

I like the idea of using decorative trimming and will be using that idea too.
