Program question DIP or Photoshop ?

I have just recently started digital scrapping. I am using DIP 9. I have recieved this program for free at a company event for my husband a little bit back. I have been learning to use it by trial and error and of course asking questions here, lots of questions. I am getting a new laptop for Christmas this year WOOHOO! I was wondering if I should go for Adobe Photoshop or Elements. It seems to me like the PS programs have a lot more options for elements. I dont know much about it though so I was hoping some of you would jump in and tell me which program you prefer or should I just stick with this one considering I didnt' have to pay for it? I have also heard DIP is more beginner friendly, is that true? Thanks so much for any help.

I use both. I create most of my elements and backgrounds in DIP9 using filters and plug ins. I haven't found too many plug ins that don't work. There are so many free plug ins out on the web. What I like about PS is the use of brushes. There is a huge learning curve to PS. I started by taking PSP8 classes and after that PS was much easier. I still create most of my layouts in DIP just because it seems so much faster. HTH

I started with DIP and it's a fnatastic starter program but I quickly outgrew it. I rarely use DIP now and prefer the power of Photoshop. I've been using it for a year now and have yet to get bored with it HTH!
