I'm new in digital scrapbooking and I'm clueless about everything, mostly is what kind of paper should I use to print the digital pages. Which one do you use? Cler.

photo paper

works great, but I have been known to use glossy presentaion paper. it is a little cheaper than photo paper. Like photo paper the colors appear more vibrant, plus it looks like photo paper and not so hard on the wallet. The price for photo paper and presentation glossy paper is the same, but you get much more presentation paper.

Try this link for an example of the type of paper I am talking about. This has 50 sheets of paper. If you buy a packet of photo paper you would get 20 for about the same price. It's worth a try . Let me know how it works for you.

Thank you, Becky. I'll try this paper you told me. I thought digital was easier and I was wrong!
I will let you know how it works when I come back from my trip. Thank you again.

Epson makes several types of scrapbooking paper. The 12x12 paper matte is supposed to last 200 years in dark album storage.

background paper

I have bought a package of multi-purpose legal sized (8.5" X 14) paper to create my own printed background papers. How do I know if this type of paper is "acid safe"? I use an ink jet printer...does that make a difference?

Thanks in advance for helping this scrapbooking newbie. I have been doing desktop publishing for the past 8 years but this is the first time I am mixing "real" (printed from regular film) and digitally printed photos in scrapbooks.

EXPERIMENTATION...

IT'S ALL ABOUT EXPERIMENTATION...

FIRST OFF:
PHOTO PAPERS ARE FABULOUS...BUT YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN ALBUM WITH SHEET PROTECTORS, THEY WILL REACT WITH ONE ANOTHER (WHEN PAGES ARE FACE TO FACE) & THEY 'DEVELOP' ON EACH OTHER. YOU'LL GET
A 'NEGATIVE' IMAGE ON THE PAGES, SO BE CAREFUL.

THE GLOSSY IS GREAT FOR A VERY BEAUTIFUL FINISH.

BUT, I ALSO LIKE THE EPSON HEAVY MATTE DOUBLE SIDED...IT GIVES A VERY RICH, VELVETY LOOK & DOES NOT REACT WITH ONE ANOTHER.

ALSO, THERE ARE SOME GORGEOUS ARTISTIC PAPERS OUT THERE...WATERCOLOR, CANVAS, LINEN, EVEN CHIFFON. TRY www.inkjetart.com

ALSO, LIKE SAID ABOVE, THE ARCHIVAL QUALITY IS IMPORTANT, BUT I FOUND SOMETHING TO HELP OUT ON PAGES THAT I PRINTED W/O ARCHIVAL PAPER OR INK.
JUST GET SOME OF THAT ARCHIVAL MIST & SPRAY IT ON IT. VERY LIGHTLY, NO SPATTERS & IT WILL SEAL & PROTECT YOUR PAPERS. (FRONT & BACK)...
GRANTED, THIS ISN'T THE BEST WAY TO DO IT, BUT IF YOU'VE ALREADY PRINTED & DON'T WANT TO DO ANOTHER ONE, THIS IS A GOOD WAY TO PROTECT!

HTH!
