Hi all,

I want to change a color photo into a duotone one. Just don´t know how. Grayscale is easy, but I can´t figure out this duo tone stuff. I work with PS CS. Can anyone help me on this? I also wonder how I can color just a small part of a b-w picture. Yeah, I´m a newby!!!

As for coloring a B&W photo.. that too couldn't be easier.


1) Open aB&W photo
2) Create a new layer
3) Using the selection tool, isolate the area that you wish to color (lips for example)
4) Paint in the selection tool the color you'd like..
5) Flatter or merge all layers and save your file..

ok- this isn't as glamorus as anything Dave does BUT

to cheat:
add a layer above your photo and fill it with a color and reduce the opacity to your liking
then select where you want the color to stay with the magic wand, lasso, marquee tool, etc.

then click Select>Inverse
click delete

or you can erase away what you don't want

this is just one way- there are umteen different ways to achieve something
