Unhappy Ah Scrap! How much will it cost to print 20 LOs? :(

So, as some of you know I've been working for a long time on a scrapbook for my boyfriend. It's finally done (for the time being, and for his birthday ) but now I have a dillema. Do I go through a zillion color inc cartridges, risk being fired at work , or take a disk to Kinkos or Walmart. What do you guys do? I need help, we're celebrating on Wednesday andI still have to make the R2D2 cake!!!!

I completed TWENTY LOs for this book -_-

I read on another digi-scrapping site that its about $1.75 to print at home including the ink, paper, etc. I haven't printed anything out yet but I think I'll just get them printed at Costco or Kinko's since their quality is sure to be better than mine. Or I may try getting a hardbound book made. Those look really cool!

I have printed at Kinkos before. $1.50 for 8X10 on 10 pt glossy paper. Not photo quality, of course.

Then, on Friday, I printed 19 layouts at Office Max. They were having $0.39 color copies special, and charged $0.30 extra for heavier paper. So, I got something almost as nice as the Kinkos printouts, for $0.69 each. (Now, if you're looking for perfect color, this is not the way to go. But, they were darn nice for the price. ) I don't know when that special ends.

If this is for a present and you really want to make a nice impression.. you need to print on archival photo paper only.. Is the layout 12/12 or 8x10? If 8x10.. you can get it printed at one of the local box stores for about 1.50 / page.. but keep in mind that color/balance etc might not match what you expect. I recently printed a huge number of digital photos at walmart.. most came out as expected but a few were way way too red. When viewing them at home and on the computer kiosk at the store, they appeared correctly colored. So.. I had to "blind" adjust them on the kiosk to remove some red and up the brightness... not exactly an exact science.

Printing at home is not a bad idea.. and is about the same cost wise.. what's nice is I've never had a problem matching what is displayed on my PC to what pritns on the printer.. so no wasted paper/ink/$$$.. Plus, you are in control and can do what you want.. when you want. One time fee for pritner but prices are down so much these days.. you can pick up a nice canon for $100.

anyway.. just my 2 cents.. good luck with your decision.
