Still NOT getting it?? Brushes???

THANKS to those that replied to my question about brushes BUT I have still not been able to do what I want to do with their suggestions.

Here's a pix from an overlay that someone else has posted (I hope it's ok that I did this...if not please delete). What I am looking do do are the black outline boxes. Someone mentioned using brushes? BUT how? THANKS

Missy this post would probably be easier to answer if we knew what program you are using. Also, it would be better placed in the corresponding forum for that program. I don't know why you think it has to be brushes - I use pse2 and would use the shape tool to make boxes. HTH.

Yep in photoshop draw a rectangle with the rectangle marquee tool (looks like a square made with dotted lines). Hold shift at the same time if you want it to be a square.

then edit>stroke

chose the pixel width- 50 or so
click on the color to change it
choose outside or center if you want rounded corners or inside if you wanted squared corners

HTH otherwise like Dianne said- you will get the best response if you post in the forum of the program you are using.

BTW- usually brushes are used more for "stamping" images on your LO- like in rubberstamping You can brush a straight line if you want a grungy looking line.

THANKS for replying. I am still new to the site and did not realize there was an adobe forum. Will remember that for future reference. I'm going to give the marquee tool a try. Hopefully I WILL get it this time. THANKS again.
