wow! congrats too everyone....seems like there will be lots of layouts this time around.....i got called for 3 of my layouts too......great job everyone....

Got asked for two, but am getting one published. Supposedly, one for last time that got 'bumped' will be in, too, but it's not a very good layout, so I hope they forget and don't put it in!

Don't be discouraged, ladies. They got thousands of submissions this time and can only choose so many. Last time, a lot of people's work (like mine) got bumped at the last minute, so that happens, too.

Once you sign the contract, though, you get your $50/page regardless of whether they end up putting it in or not, so that's workin' for us.

They're really trying to get more digital work into the regular/non-digital issues of the different big magazines, so start submitting to those. Once you get your name out there as a digital scrapper, you'll be more likely to be chosen for future publications. Just like how you see the same paper scrappers published in all the big companies... that's because 'everyone' knows them by their work or name, and they had to start somewhere, didn't they?

Thanks for the encourangment Leeandra.... I just have a hard time trying to find time to submit my stuff what with 2 little one under the age of 4, and another due soon.... and what is the easiest way to submit? ScrapSubmit.com?

I'd love to get my stuff published somewhere.... I guess I just need to get off my bum and go look at the calls and such and take the whole process alittle more seriously.... *S*

I think Scrapsubmit is a great way to submit LOs. You can send the same info for a LO to several Mags all at once. Plus you can save your LOs and info on their site and be able to resubmit them later for new/different calls.

The other thing I think that helps is to submit for a specific call. So when you see that CK is looking for baby pages send them in with a reference to that call. I think that the mags get really overwhelmed with general submissions that might or might not fit what they're looking for in the next issues they're producing.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the SS digital calls are through. I've already been contacted about submitting the high resolution files for the issue.
