Go ahead, Call 9-1-1. It's my day off!

I started computer scrapbooking not too long ago. I consider myself computer literate and I learn new software quickly. However it took a while to figure out how to work with the different design layers and I am by no means done learning. I started with pre-made page templates. That is very easy, just drag and drop your pictures in place and voila, page done. Next step, I started adding little things to the pre-made templates and finally I made my own pages.

Congratulations on your new baby. I bet with the little one around you don't have too much time for this great hobby. Search for Baby Girl (or Boy) Album in the Elements section. Shelleyrae has put together an unbelievable set of baby pages that you can download free. All you need to do is to add your baby’s pictures and your own journaling. This will be a great start.

JustJudy, I think if you roam around here a while you'll find that there are A LOT of beginners like yourself. I "lurked" at this site for well over a year before I actually bit the bullet and bought a digital imaging program and started making layouts. There is so much to be learned here but don't get overwhelmed by it. Look at the layouts in the gallery, see what kind of "styles" you prefer...that you would like to try to copy. Then just give it a try. It's a learn-as-you-go art and everyone here is so supportive and helpful. Read the forums and POST in the forums, no question is too simple or silly.

Because of your new little one, I'm assuming you would like to do some layouts of your baby and this is a great place to find ideas, elements to use, advise, etc.

Also, you're timing is perfect because they just started up new challenge events for beginners. I'd highly recommend you set aside a Tues. evening to join everyone in the chat room... it's a beginner's night. And checkout this forum where the Beginner group is explained: here
