Thumbs up

I blogged about organizing your supplies here: http://dreamscrapping.blogspot.com/2...th-acdsee.html I am quite surprised that no one here has mentioned ACDSee for organizing! I have tried several ways to organize, including Photoshop Album and I discuss the problems with it in my blog entry.

Those of you interested in using ACDSee that are using Photoshop Elements Organizer can import your already tagged entries so you don't have to redo everything to be able to start using ACDSee! (And no, I don't work for ACDSee - it is just such a great product and remains FAST, even with TONS of digital supplies and photos in it.)

In addition, those of you using Picasa to organize, don't you have a problem previewing .png files correctly? With all the elements that I have that are .png files, if I couldn't view them properly, this would really bug me! This is one of the reasons I don't like Photoshop Album or the Organizer in Photoshop Elements.

I know that you can go to tools - options and then file types and click them all -
Ok now for my newbe dork question - I have all my kits and elements in Picasa and wanted to ask a question How do you import them into PS? do you just keep both programs open and by using Picasa see where they are located - and then grab them the traditional way in Photoshop or am I doing it the complicated way?

Hi I don't have Picasa on my computer anymore but can't you right click on the thumbnails and choose to have it open right in your PS?
Something like Edit...darn I forget and I never used PS so I don't know how it worked with that particular program.

I see that Lvich said that she was surprized that no one had mentioned ACDSee in this thread yet. That is because this thread is older then the Digital world finding out about ACDSee! I think a lot of us use it now. I know I do and LOVE IT!

Related Question - tagging items

I have both picassa and photoshop cs2 on my computer; I find it very easy to put keywords on items in picassa. Does anyone know a good way to drag stuff from picassa to PS? I have been finding it in Picassa, noting the file name and then opening in PS.. there has to be a better way!
Thanks
Lauri

Its better really to use a hard drive for each folder just like mine so that your files will be in order. Just have to assigned names, keywords or colors so that its easy for you to find and recognize your elements.

I have photoshop CS2 - is any part of photoshop album contained in that? Also, is photoshop elements something different altogether?
Thanks!

Question for Haley

Hi Haley, I use picasa too and think its great. although it does get wonky if I try to take too many items and assign tags to them. The only thing I cant figure out how to do is to drag it from picasa into photoshop. What do you do?
Thanks.
Lauri
