What to do with all L/O and Pictures

Are you all just burning them to cd or something else. Using some kind of program? or what. I need something to help organize my piles of pics and my LO and everything else. Thanks :-)

Hi!

I am currently working on scrapbooks for:
5 of my grandkids (future wedding present)
my husband's and my life together
our home
heritage
senic (coffee table)
Christmas (coffee table)

ORGANIZE! This is the hardest part!
I sort out my photos according to theme or child, kind of in order of dates.
Then scan a bunch of photos of one theme or child, put them in a folder, then fix them.
Make the scrapbook pages if you wish...
Then I make 2 folders
pictures (fixed)
scrapbook

Burn to a cd:
Name your cd
add the two folders

You can then add to either of the folders on the cd as you scrap (or go the the fixed photos to get one and make the next page).

I guess the reason that I'm doing this is because there are so few pictures left of myself, my husband and our families. (either lost or destroyed) Heritage is important to me, so I hope the time and effort will be appreciated some day...........!

I burn all my LO's onto CD. I burn to a RW first until it is a full disk and then I copy it all to a CD-R and put it in our safe (eventually I'm gonig to have to buy a safe just for CD's HAHAHA)

I also print the majority of my layouts at a photo studio since there isn't an available sorce to print the photos onto high quality paper where I live. Plus, I like the photo finish. eventually all my Lo's will be printed as coffee table books but I need to get all the LO's in order first and the missing ones need to be made/finished.

I also make a web size copy that I send to my family and friends and an additional CD that is sent to my parents incase there is the unfortunate event of a house fire - there's a copy off site! (Hopefully that will never happen but I'd rather be prepared!!)

I don't Print every LO (yet) but perhaps that will change. I know my older LO's probably feel neglected LOL They never went to the printer. (Thank heavens too haha if Lo's could talk!!)

Okay, I'm allowing my humor to get the best of me, it must be late! Hope this is useful!

I have a file folder for each of my scrapbooks I'm working on which is on a second hard drive I have and then I copy them to cd (2 copies- one goes to our safe deposit box ). For Christmas I'm asking for a dvd burner and that's what I'll copy them to. I want eventually to make a dvd that is like a power point presentation with the kids scrapbooks adding music and fading in and out and also adding some of the video footage we have. I plan on having this running during my son's graduation parties. So many possibilites.
