Talking resizing ? please help

Some kits have files that are sooooo large that when I open with DIP 9 they are 'funky' looking when opening to a 8 1/2 x 11 page. I know how to crop them but they still don't look right.
How can I change or resize so that they will look right?

I am having a particular problem with the meshes (ribbons and things), but also some elements. I work with DIP 9 but also have Adobe Photo Deluxe Home Edition 4.

I would appreciate any help as this is so frustrating!

Jeanne - I don't know how to use DIP, but in theory I have an answer for you. Have you tried to crop the items instead of resize? For example, instead of squishing a ribbon, you would, in essence, cut off the ends. Know what I mean? Now some elements might just need resizing and then I would ask - do you have the option to select bicubic sampling when you resize? This tends to be the better option for resizing these kinds of images. Also, you want to make sure you are constraining the proportions so that the image maintains it's original shape when it is resized. Hope this helps, if only a little!

You can also immediately resize to fit by using Format >Resize Object to Fit Canvas>Scale to fit.

Thsi will keep teh proportions and fit to your canvas at teh same time. If the "look" of the eleemnets change this is only due to the view you have on screen. If you print the page it will look fine..zoom in to 100% to see what I mean

Hope that helps

resizing ? Please help

Thanks girls.
I did print several elements out and they printed out fine. They just looked funky on the screen.
I have been cropping the ends and that didn't seem to do the job.

I haven't tried to search for the element kit that was large. Printed out this page for a future reference to try.

Thanks again!
