Sandi,
I have to leave in a few minutes so I don't have time to give you instructions but I will later(if I can figure it out)LOL. I am also new to DIP as I have used Paint Shop Pro for 2 years now but am trying to learn all I can about DIP. My first suggestion is to sign up to take Shelley Rae's background class which starts this Friday. The cost is $20.00 but it is well worth the money. You get a lot of bang for your buck! I took her first class and was amazed at all the information she gave us. You can sign up for this class at the store. Hope to see you there.

Elements/Programs

First, Thanks to everyone that takes the time to respond to questions.
Since I am able to import the elements into MS Digital Image Pro but not edit the element (color etc) and I can also import it into Corel Photopaint but it comes in with a background and overlapping elements and does not allow editing of object, My question is: Is there one best program to use that allows easy editing of both the objects and the Photos? Any Pros and Cons would be appreciated.
I have used Photopaint for some time but find some like some of the features of MSDIP. I would also like to know if someone has a preference to a program that makes seperating objects or people from the backgrounds in a photo?
Thanks,
Sandi

Other popular choices for scrapping are Paint Shop Pro (psp) and Photoshop Elements(pse). Both will handle png files and allow for extraction from photos, although it is a bit of a trial and error thing until you get the hang of it.

Elements/Programs

Thanks,
Since Programs are so expensive and I already own Corel Photopaint and MS Digital Image Pro, I don't want to make an expensive mistake. I just want to make sure that the elements can be used and edited since I don't seem to be able to do that in either of those programs.

Sandy,
MSDIP will do everything you want it to do for scrapbooking. Check out one of our DTM's who uses DIP only. She does fantastic LOs. Here is the link to Shelley Rae's gallery. http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/galle...ry.php?cat=526 You can change the color in DIP and break apart elements. I am just not experienced enough in DIP to tell you how. Check out the DIP forum for lots of tips and post there if you have questions. I think you will get a better response in that forum.
