You can try using a stamped look font like Crack Babies or SBCs Stone Inscription. Alternatively pick a font of your own, and use the eraser and brushes to make your own. Add dimension with a Bevel and Emboss layer style. Some of these suggestions might just get you started

here is the current layout i am working on:

http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/galle...hp?photo=41665

and here is the one i am trying to get the look of:

http://gauchogirl.com/images/gallery...-girl-100k.jpg

you see how there is a little line where the "stamped" image goes on one paper and then on the one underneath ... how do you get it to do THAT???

It's kind of complicated to explain in a post (and it depends on which software you use), but...

You would create the text on two layers (by duplicating one layer) and put the photo layer between the two. Then select the photo layer image with your selection tool. The selection should not include the torn part of the edge. Once you have the "marching ants" around the photo, select the top text layer, invert the selection and delete the inverted selection. This will remove the lower part of the text, exposing the torn edge.

That should do it...

HTH!

Check out this thread. Gauchogirl explains how she does it.
what is the name of the font that looks like foam stamps?

You can also check out Dennis's site he has a tutorial on how to get the stamped effect.

i had the idea of separating the text into different layers ... i just didn't have the layers placed in the right order!!!

boy, put them in the right order and voila!

that wasn't so hard!!!

I may have found an even easier way! Take a look at this layout I made http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/galle...cat=500&page=1 All I did was brush some lines (7 px) over the stamped letters that were the color of the shadow on the picture below. Piece of cake!

Tonya explained to me once, an easy way to do it is to type text, rasterize it, control click on the text layer, then get a stippled like eraser brush and just erase parts of the letters!
