Mixed Media Artist jumping Into Digital Scrapping

Hi, my name is Lea and I am a mixed media artist working in the crafting industry. I've done many digital collages with my own works and additional elements but I was intrigued with digital scrapping after attending Chicago's Scrapbook Expo and taking a class sponsored by Epson. I forgot in my profile to put I use Ulead's Photo Impact and I'm awaiting a new computer so I can use Photoshop 7. I know basic technical stuff, but I am here to get some finesse and find tuning and to share with all here in this community. I am on the DT at OSS (Our Stamp Studio) and The Artful Lexicon. In the industry I am on design teams for many popular companies such as EK Success, Plaid, Delta, Therm O Web, Tsukineko, etc..

I want to take my real art and get digital with it!!!!

Welcome, Lea! It sounds like you'll be a great addition around here. I can't wait to see what happens when you go digital.

If you have any questions that we can help you with, please throw them out there.

Thank You

Thank you for the kind welcome Stacy. Yea, I'm in learning mode as I'm not a total technical person so I will have "tweaking" questions and "making elements" questions.

Question You Guys Are Great!

Thank you for your warm welcomes. I'm getting my feet wet moving around the site. Dianne, here's my first question if you could quickly answer..... 500x500 - I usually work in DPI's. What's an easy way to figure out the file size from like 500x500? I thought my original was within the boundaries, but it came up file too big When I shrunk it smaller, as you can see; there is a white border which I don't want. I have Photo Impact at the moment and I can set up my workspace to 500x500, so should I do that and bring in my original image and save it at that size and see if it fits the whole avatar area? TIA

Hi Lea

Welcome!! I love your avatar!! Try sizing it to a 300x300 and see if that works for you. I'm so glad that you have joined us.
