Question Has anyone tried PhotoWeave for making plaids?

Hello!

I've been looking for a good plaid-making program. I have PlaidLite, and I've used it in some layouts, but in general I am disappointed with the 'resolution' of the plaids -- it doesn't really make a plaid that looks like real fabric with much larger stripes of color and thinner ones, etc. At least, I haven't been able to figure that out.

I've found another plug in (Photoshop plug in, by the way) online called PhotoWeave. It looks like it would create much better realistic fabric. But I haven't been able to find any actual user reviews on this product, only the publisher PR blurb, so I'm hesitant to shell out the $129 purchase price and they don't have a demo version.

Has anyone here tried this program?

Hi Jane,

I haven't tried that program but it looks interesting!

You may want to check out Simple filters at: http://www.btinternet.com/~cateran/simple/

I've achieved some interesting plaids by first applying the Diamond filter and then 4-Way Average.

Good Luck!

Thank you!

Thank you Mona for posting that link! I stayed up way too late last night making tiles and plaids with those great filters! I had been looking for something like that...so fun!

photoweave

i have the demo of that program and unfortunatly it is such a HUGE memory hog. you have to make tiles and then apply them on a 12x12 background. so, if you do try it out... keep in mind that you need to only open a 300x300 pixel square or smaller.

I used this filter in ps7 but it changed the color of my paper. Does anyone know how to keep that from happening?
