Newbie! Have questions!

Hi! I am a newbie to digital scrapbooking!
What is a good program to purchase that is moderate to low priced?
Also, do you print out your layouts and keep them in a scrapbook or do you keep them on the computer?
Do you miss the tactile aspect of traditional scrapbooking? Why or why not?
Thanks for your help!
Cindy

I use Photoshop Elements 2. Right now it is really inexpensive because Adobe is about to release the next version. I think that PSE3 is ~$100 for pre-orders and PSE2 is anywhere from $30 to $50. I like that I'm learning to use the scaled down version of Photoshop because someday I'll move up but I won't have to start of scratch. You can get a trial version of PSE2 from Adobe http://www.adobe.com/products/tryado...jsp#product=40

I do print out some of my LOs. In theory I'll print them all out but I'm a little lazy about it at the moment. I also post them on my personal website for friends and family to check out.

I do other crafts for the hands-on fun. I really love the how much better my layouts look on the computer versus hand scrapped.

HTH!

Hi Cindy,

Welcome!

What is a good program to purchase that is moderate to low priced?

Photoimpact is my primary software. You'll be seeing more tutorials here at SBB for this program. It is a great program that is priced under $100.00. I also have Photoshop Elements, Photoshop, and Paint Shop Pro but I never seem to need to use them much.

Also, do you print out your layouts and keep them in a scrapbook or do you keep them on the computer?

I do both! It's hard not to share with family and friends.

Do you miss the tactile aspect of traditional scrapbooking? Why or why not?

I've never been a traditional scrapbooker. I love the flexibility of creating digital layouts.

Good Luck with your decision and have fun!
