If I have a file saved as .png and then I email it, the layers are locked (flattened?). How can I email a file and keep the layers so I can work on it again?

You need to save it in DIP's native format. I don't know what that's called, but whatever the default is when you go to 'Save As' should be it. .PNG and .JPG are universal files so they flatten when they're saved.

I just did it so will try to explaine,
FILE
drop down menue then
SAVE COPY AS
and then it shifts to your doc area to name I just name the layout and then put .png on it.
I am able to keep it for play later.
