Adding text to CG layouts

I could just pull my hair out over this!
I have so much trouble once it comes to adding the text or journaling.
I start a new LO..either 12x12 or 8.5x11. I use 300dpi. The text is just too small even using sz72! How can that be? And how do I fix it. Some fonts are larger than others I know, but even the poster kind are too small. Anything I need to know? I use PSP7 if that matters. How do you all add text when not using pre-made ones that are part of a kit...when just using your programs text?
Thanks so much if you can help!

I use PSE but i do know I often have to go larger than 72 for titles and things. not sure if you knew you could make the font larger than 72 just by clicking in the box and typing in your new size. Are you typeing your font's right on the layout? not sure if that makes a difference as I am new to, but I use the text tool and it creates a text layer right on the current project. well not sure if any of this babbling was helpful to you or not LOL

Hello,
Well I did not know I could type in a bigger size, nope! I will try that.
Sometimes I add text right on the layout with the text tool. sometimes onto a tag or ribbon, etc then on they layout.
Thanks for your help!

Thumbs up THANK YOU DAWN!

Well I cannot believe it was that simple!
I did a LO today, and was able to get the size of text right....just by typing in number. I feel like an idiot having struggled with that for so long!
TY TY TY!!!!

Another thought I had was that maybe you could enlarge the layout on your screen. My program usually shows the layout at 17% of regular size. That's fine for placing large elements, but I often have to enlarge the layout to 33% (or even more) to accurately place text or smaller elements. You can only see a portion of the layout when you do this, but it helps to make sure it's in the exact place where you want it.
