I was trying to look at it and all the categories were coming up empty... also it said I wasn't registered and had a box that said 'log in here' only it wasn't actually linked to a log in screen... now I'm very confused!

It's not working yet as far as I know. If you go to the home page, there will be an announcement made using the new announcement system when it happens. In the meantime, you can still access them 'the old way' by clicking on 'Gallery' and clicking on the subcategory 'Elements.'
