I'm an XP user and have also not been able to EXTRACT all. The Extract appears when just 1 file is selected, but when one selects additional files, the EXTRACT disappears. I emailed Microsoft to ask since I couldn't figure it out either. Received the following response back today:
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Microsoft Online Customer Service.
I understand that you wish to know whether you can unzip multiple zip files at once using Windows XP extract feature. I realize the importance of your concern.
As a Customer Service Representative, I have searched my online resources and found that Windows XP does not have a feature to unzip multiple zip files at once.
I appreciate your feedback and I understand how frustrating it is when you find that the product does not meet your needs. I will forward your suggestion to our development team so that they may improve this by an update patch to be released in the future or in the next version of the product.
Also, I suggest that you provide your feedback in the following page:
http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp?
This site is for ideas on new or improved features and services that you would like to see added and ways to make Microsoft products easier. Your suggestions are always welcome there.
If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to reply to this e-mail.
