Question To Print or Color Copy?

So I have a ton of LO's to print off. I need 4 copies of each? Should I print every one out or print one copy and take to a color copy center and have them make me copies on their photo paper?

Lightbulb Third possible option

Hi there, I'm very new to this site, love it, but I do quite a lot of old fashioned scrapbooking and I need multiple copies. I scan them, you can eliminate that step since they are computer generated, save them as a jpeg, put them on a disk and take them to Costo to be printed. I computed the paper/ink cost and it is a good solution for me. They print a 12x18 for $2.99, so that's one page or if you work in 8.5 by 11 that is two pages. The quality is fantastic and you can choose gloss or matte. Maybe...anyway good luck.

And you need 4 copies because?

I think it depends on what you need the copies for. If you are printing them for your children to have as adults, then you want the BEST (most archival) prints you can get.

Okay...Thank you..Great idea. Either that or I will have to buy more ink at Costco for my printer!

These will be for four 6 x 6 scrapbooks. One will be for DH and the other 3 for our parents. So I guess one will be for our kids to share. I know I took some nice prints to Kinkos and some turned out great. Others were not right on the color. So I may just print off 4 copies each then. I will go through alot of ink. I am doing 12 front and back pages (24 total) for each book. Thank you again!

I wonder about this topic too! If I decide to print them all myself on my ink-jet printer, is that the best quality? Will the photo paper last for generations?

research

There are two groups researching the longevity of various combinations of inks and papers. Here are links to both:

I suggest you check out your printer/ink combination vs whatever the print company you're thinking about using uses. There are HUGE variations from one combination to another.

Yeah, I'm wondering about what is the best quality at the lowest prices. Of cours, I want it all. I used Kinko's the other day. At 99 cents per 8.4 x 11 page, the total grew fast. The results looked fantastic though. I look forward to seeing what others do. At home I have an Epson C84 which is out of ink.
