Calls?

OK..I'm probably even a dork for thinking someone would want to publish any of my pages..but I submitted some to some recent page calls just to see.

So, How long does it usually take to hear if they want your pages for their magazine? Is there any way to know or is it totally difrerent for each call and each magazine? Say if a magazine layout call ended on the 6th, is that when they start going through the pages or do they start calling after then? *laugh* Yes I'm a dork and not very patient. Heck...what is even worse is if they don't want the pages they won't even call at all. LOL oh well.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this that they can share with others wanting to get their pages published.

-Kelly

Just switched to digital scrapping and haven't submitted yet, but I can share my paper scrapping experiences...

You can expect to wait at least two or more weeks after a call goes out before calls go out in most instances. Some magazines do make calls as soon as they get a layout they want, but in most cases, they wait until the deadline is passed and then do a "page pull."

If you don't get a call, that doesn't mean your page wasn't good. You wouldn't believe how much goes into deciding which pages to publish... things like what colors will look good being published on the same page, if the layout is one or two pages, how much advertising is in the book affects how pages they can publish, etc. So don't take it personally.

Good luck on having your pages published!

I've just had experience with the SS Digital Issue this year, and it took months to get a confirmation that your page was being published. There was a lot of anxious chatter and 'Anybody get a call today?' questions on SBB for at least a month before they started trickling in.

On the flip side MMs 100% Digital Call closed on Sept 1st and everyone is supposed to hear by the 20th. That's fast evidently!
