Exclamation HELP PLEASE!! Kodak Picture Maker

I am trying to make a quickie gift.....and want to make 4x6 layouts, so I can print using the picture maker at the drugstore for .29 each.

I made up a layout 4x6, but when I brought it to the machine, it cropped off quite a bit, so obviously the machine reads things differently.

Can someone who might have done this before, know what size I should make the background so the whole "page shows"? Maybe I should convert to pixels instead of inches? I am saving at 300dpi.

thanks so much.

Had the same problem the first time I used those Kiosh. What I found out was my image size was really 3.8 x 6. So when I selected 4x6 print, the machine adjusted my photo to 4 x 6+. So, when it printed it cropped parts of my photo that I wanted.

Anyway, sorry to be so long winded. Check your image size and make the appropriate adjustments to make it 4x6. It doesn't matter if its in inches or pixels. I also saved the file as 300dpi.

Hope this helps
Betty

Machine cropping picture

What you might also want to do is to edit your image in the Kodak picture maker software, what I found out is that even though your picture is 4x6 the machine will automatically crop it. Just edit image and zoom the selection back out to capture your entire picture. Hope this helps.

Okay, just got back from the Kodak machine after messing around with size...
I resized my image to 1800 x 1180 pixels (@300dpi) and that seemed to work pretty well. I still wouldn't put anything to close to the edges....

Anyways, just thought I would share my results.
