I posted this before but now I have more info. I am hoping this will give someone more info and be able to help me out. I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 1.0 and DIP7. In both programs when I try to save an image as png at 300dpi it only saves at 72dpi. It does this only with the png format. THe jpgs work fine. I have gone to the tool section and set the image quality in each program and still this does not help. I have gone to the help section for each program and no additional info except the tools option which I have already tried. This is so strange because both of my programs are doing this not just one. Any ideas on the problem or what I should try next? My next step I quess is to contact each company and ask them.
