Newby with a big task at hand

Hi Everyone,

I joined a couple of weeks ago and I've been checking the beginners forum daily. I just bought Photoshop Elements (after giving up on Photoshop) and I'm learning a bit more each day.

I started traditional scrapbooking years ago, but never completed an album. I created about 30 pages total and then became bogged down by the amount of pictures and keepsakes (My kids are aged 12 and 7 now so any Mom knows the vast amount of scrapbooking "possibilities" that crowd my mind). Hence, I've decided to try to create 'Theme' albums concentrating on specific areas: Birthdays, Christmas, School Days etc, instead of trying to capture EVERY memory!

I love the idea of creating on the computer mainly because that offers the possibility of saving them forever. My grandmother created dozens of beautiful scrapbooks that are falling apart (another future project will be trying to scan/save parts of these).

But, right now, I've taken on a huge project. I'm creating a 'Memory Book' for my 25-year High School Reunion. It will contain biographies of alumni and be distributed to everyone that attended the reunion. It will contain pictures from High School, from previous reunions and from our big 25-year reunion that we had this summer. So far, I've drafted about 5 pages...with inspiration from the gallery.

I look forward to learning more, and becoming an active part of this community.
Karen

Can't even spell NewBIE

It's me again and after posting my message I realized I spelled 'Newbie' wrong!
How embarrasing,
Karen

Welcome to SBB! Sounds like a fascinating project. Let us know how it goes! I might do something similar for my DH's family since no one in his family scraps and his siblings are 56, 55, & 50 years old.

Welcome i am a Newbie to CG scrapping- but i have been scrapbooking for about 6 years. On your Alumni Album I would make a set format for each kind of page and maybe change the colors for each section. I am learning photoshop elements as well!
