there are lots of ways to do it i do it by using a image of a crumpled paper that i either scanned or photographed you can also get images online of this texture at sites like the stock xchng www.sxc.hu

put the crumple over the the paper you want to crumple and set the layer style to multiply adjust the opacity or the brightness and contrast to get it perfect.

you can also use a filter like xenofex some programs come with this texture in it already like DIP

2 ways to make crinkled paper

I use Photo Impact 8.5, and it came with the Xenoflex 2 filters. There is a filter within the set that makes things look crumpled. The filters can be purchased separately and are compatible with many graphics programs, but I don't know how much they cost.

Although I haven't done this, you could try using the texturizer (or similar feature) in your software. Most allow you to load your own texture. To try this:

-Photograph or scan a piece of crumpled paper
-Convert the image to grayscale
-Save it as a jpg or your software's native format
-Add it to your texturizer following the directions for your software
-Apply the texture to the paper you want to crinkle

Have fun!

LOL! You sound like me. I HAVE to have the PERFECT look when I'm trying something. Of course for me that's been a hinderance! I can't complete many layouts that way and when I do I tend to sigh and think, "If only I'd have just done..."! I'm looking very forward to that perfect torn paper!
