Question Uploading Photo Help

I would really appreciate knowing how to link to someone's layout when uploading my photo. I have seen many people do it. In example, I just posted a layout that was based on someone else's layout. I described it and told people where to find it but it would be better just to have the link to it so people could click and go directly there. Can anyone tell me how to do this in the description box when one is uploading? Thank you!

Just copy the web address from the address bar of the LO you are refering to and then paste it in your description. Just make sure you don't but anything in the space after it like a comma or period. You will then have linked to that LO.

the easiest way is to just copy the url for the LO you based your work on into the body of your description. The text will autmatically become a link once you submit your information.

for example
http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com

The other way is to use HTML code. That's when you have text that represents the link.

for example
SBB

To do this you need to type

{url=http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com}SBB{/url}

but replace the curly brackets {} with straight brackets [ ].
If I do that here I'll autmatically create another link. LOL

HTH and feel free to PM me if you need more help/explanation.

Thank you--this is great!

I didn't realise that html would be converted to an automatic link so neither way of doing this (direct or paste) occurred to me. This is great! Not everyone is as lazy as me but I can't help but feel that many more people would click and go look at the original than would follow my directions for trying to get there! I am now going to go back and edit my layout so it is a direct click because the original is definitely worth seeing!

I love seeing the inspiration for a LO, but it's questionable whether I'll take the time to navigate around on my own.

And you're ahead of the game since you know that you can edit your LO information. Some folks just add a comment instead of editing and then what you really needed people to know may get lost in the real comments.

Editing Layouts

Umm, I am an inveterate button pusher. The first thing I do when I load new software is use every option I can find. I am still not entirely sure how to get the most out of this site--I haven't cracked the search option yet and I haven't found a way to navigate back to where I was after I post a comment. Clicking back takes me back to the picture that I commented upon. If I click on gallery, I go back to the beginning page even though I might have been on page 4. It is a pita and sometimes I don't comment just because I have to scramble to get back to viewing. If you know a way out of this one, please share!

I'm not sure if you use IE but here's how I do it. Next to the back arrow on your bowser toolbar is a little down arrow. It will show you last ~10 pages you have looked at. If you're in the gallery and you've just commented on a LO, click this down arrow and select "Post Past Day" (the list of the all the LOs from the last day). It should be the third page down on the list.

HTH! Feel free to PM me if this doesn't work for you!
