designing your own avatar?

I love the DTM avatars. I would like to design my own but have no clue where to start. Do you need a special program? I use DIP7 for my scrapbooking. Thanks in advance!!

Becky! The fancy avatars are created using the pen tool in Photoshop. I'm still getting to grip with it myself but all those avatars are really cool aren't they?

Cool

http//:Be Proud of Your Pen Tool ( aka a lesson in vectors)

I think this is the address for the lesson Miss Tanya wrote on how to make an Avatar Chick.

I use PSP 8.1 and recently bought PSE 2. I had tried to make one in PSP but was unsuccessful, then I tried PSE2 and found it much easier. Lots of undo and patience but I finally got there. I don't know anything about your programme, but if it has options for drawing/painting I imagine it would be possible.

Hope this helps,
Jules

Hi Becky!
I created the DTM avatars (see below) using PI. The pen tool in PS is hard for me to use although I normally use PS for element design and scrapping.

I use the path drawing tool in PI-it's really not that hard The key to remember is use your layers and don't worry if the shapes aren't exactly perfect. You can always make another shape and layer it so you get the shape you want.

"Original Avatar Chick" 'claracature' style!
